Storage media before collection: what to clarify
Laptops, PCs, servers, printers and smartphones contain storage media. We transport them but do not erase anything. That is why it should be clear before collection how storage media are handled – and who is responsible.
What matters
- Responsibility
- Responsibility for the data lies with the client or the owner of the devices.
- Erase before or after transport
- Either data is erased before collection or at the recipient (e.g. an ITAD provider). Both are the client's decision.
- Removal
- Sometimes storage media are removed and transported separately or destroyed.
- Sealed containers
- If you specify sealed containers, we hand them over and take them over as such.
