Hardware
Transporting switches and routers
Network equipment ranges from small access switches to heavy chassis switches with plug-in modules. Small devices come in large numbers, big chassis individually and heavy – both need their own packaging.
What matters
- Access switches
- Small switches are collected in cartons or pallet cages; layers prevent scratches and broken ports.
- Chassis switches
- Large chassis are heavy. Modules and power supplies are often removed for transport and packed separately.
- Transceivers and cables
- Small, valuable parts such as transceivers travel in their own labelled containers.
- Rack ears and rails
- Pack mounts separately so they do not rub against devices.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- How many devices, and which size classes?
- Are there chassis switches with modules?
- Are modules, power supplies and transceivers packed separately?
- Where are the devices going?
- Should serial numbers be captured?
What we need from you
- Quantity and device sizes
- Packing condition
- Separate modules/accessories
- Destination
What we do for you
What we organise
- Transport of your IT hardware from collection straight to destination – from one pallet to recurring volumes
- On request collection from several sites, serial number capture and project-based packaging
- Dates coordinated with every collection and destination site – with one contact for you
Good to know
Back up or erase configurations with your network team before collection – then the devices are immediately ready for their next use.
How it works
- 01
Request
You send route, date, product group and quantity using the form below – no serial numbers needed.
- 02
Review
We check quantities and weights and clarify the packaging of modules and small parts.
- 03
Quote
You receive a quote with the agreed scope – on request including multi-site collection, serial number capture and packaging.
- 04
Execution
Collection of the packed devices, transport and handover – with a serial number list on request.
Questions and answers: Switches and routers
Are modules removed from chassis switches for transport?
That is often advisable; your network team or the manufacturer decides. Modules and power supplies are then packed separately.
How are transceivers transported?
In their own labelled containers so the small, valuable parts do not get lost.
What about the switch configurations?
Your network team backs them up or erases them before collection – so the devices are ready for use straight away at the recipient.
