Transporting UPS systems
An uninterruptible power supply consists of a power unit and batteries – and the batteries make it heavy and relevant under transport rules. Whether lead-acid or lithium, installed or removed, decides the plan.
What matters
- Battery type
- Lead-acid and lithium batteries are subject to different transport rules. We need type and condition before quoting.
- Removed or installed
- For larger systems, battery modules are often removed and packed separately.
- Weight
- Battery cabinets are very heavy; lifting equipment and floor load capacity on site must fit.
- Damaged batteries
- Leaking or damaged batteries must be reported beforehand; they need special handling.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- Which battery type – lead-acid or lithium?
- Are batteries installed or removed?
- Are there damaged or leaking batteries?
- How heavy are the units?
- Where is the system going?

What we do for you
What we organise
- Transport of your IT hardware from collection straight to destination – from one pallet to recurring volumes
- On request collection from several sites, serial number capture and project-based packaging
- Dates coordinated with every collection and destination site – with one contact for you
Good to know
Have batteries disconnected and removed by a qualified electrician. Tell us type and condition – then we plan the transport accordingly.
How it works
- 01
Request
You send route, date, product group and quantity using the form below – no serial numbers needed.
- 02
Review
We clarify battery type and condition in advance and check under which conditions the transport is possible.
- 03
Quote
You receive a quote with the agreed scope – on request including multi-site collection, serial number capture and packaging.
- 04
Execution

Questions and answers: UPS systems
Are UPS batteries dangerous goods?
Batteries can be subject to dangerous goods rules in transport – depending on type, condition and packaging. That is why we need these details before quoting.
Are the batteries removed from the UPS?
Often, for larger systems. A qualified electrician from your company or the manufacturer does this.
Can a UPS with damaged batteries be transported?
That depends on the condition and requires special handling. Report damage in advance; the review shows whether and how it is possible.
