Hardware
Transporting tablets
Tablets usually come in programmes: school devices, field service equipment, POS and kiosk applications. They are small, have batteries and displays – and often charging cases or trolleys that should travel along.
What matters
- Batteries
- As with laptops: intact batteries in devices can be transported with exemptions; damaged or swollen ones must be reported.
- Displays
- Tablets without cases are prone to scratches and breakage. Cartons with individual compartments or original packaging protect best.
- Charging cases and trolleys
- Charging trolleys are bulky and heavy; their dimensions belong in the request.
- Many devices, little volume
- High value in a small space – which is why counting or serial number capture makes sense.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- How many tablets are there, and how are they packed?
- Are there devices with damaged batteries?
- Do charging cases or trolleys travel along?
- Should serial numbers be captured?
- Where are the devices going?
